Calculator inputs
During normal calculator use, your inputs and results are processed by JavaScript in your browser. They are not sent to a Calwarden calculator API just to produce an answer. Your browser may keep preferences, recent tools, favorites, and builder templates in local storage on your device.
Information is sent when you use a connected feature, such as saving a workflow to your account, submitting a calculator request, or contacting Calwarden. Public production pages also send the limited page-use information described in the Analytics section below.
Accounts and cloud saves
You do not need an account to use the calculator library. If you sign in, Calwarden stores your email address, account identifier, plan, account dates, login-code records, and session records. A secure HTTP-only cookie keeps you signed in. Login codes expire after 10 minutes, and sessions are set to expire after 30 days.
Signed-in users can sync favorite and recent calculator IDs, builder drafts, and workflows or calculator snapshots they explicitly save. A saved snapshot can contain the inputs and supporting details included in that saved item. Local copies may also remain in the browser until its site data is cleared.
Requests, votes, and notifications
Signed-in users can request calculators, suggest categories, provide formulas or source links, vote on requests, and choose whether to receive an email when a requested calculator is built. Calwarden stores the submission, account association, vote, notification choice, and related timestamps needed to operate those features.
Contact and issue reports
The Contact form sends your name, email address, subject, message, page URL, browser user-agent, and submission time so the request can be delivered and answered. A hidden anti-spam field and short per-client rate limit help block automated submissions. The rate limit uses a hash derived from the request IP address and expires after about one minute.
The report-an-issue feature sends your name, optional email address, description, page URL, browser user-agent, and submission time. A valid report creates a GitHub issue containing the name, description, page, browser, and time. The email address is not included in the issue body. Avoid including passwords, account codes, health records, financial account numbers, or other sensitive information in either form.
Security checks and hosting
Cloudflare hosts and delivers Calwarden and may process standard request information such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, and security signals. The Contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. The browser receives a short-lived Turnstile token, and Calwarden sends that token and the request IP address to Cloudflare's Siteverify service to confirm the submission is legitimate.
Analytics
Analytics runs on public production pages and is excluded from /admin/* pages. Calculator inputs are not included in analytics events.
- Umami: Calwarden uses a cookie-free Umami tracker for aggregate page-use information. It can record pageviews, referring pages, browser and device type, operating system, and country.
- Google Analytics: Google Analytics measures page and session activity, approximate location, and browser or device information. GA4 may set first-party
_gaand_ga_*cookies. Advertising storage, advertising user data, and ad personalization are disabled in Calwarden's configuration.
You can block or delete analytics cookies and scripts through browser settings, privacy controls, or extensions. The Cookie Policy explains the browser technologies in more detail.
Sharing and external services
Calwarden does not sell personal information. Information is shared only as needed with providers that host the site, protect forms, deliver email, measure site use, maintain issue reports, or support features you request. Those providers handle information under their own terms and privacy policies. Links to other websites are governed by the policies of those sites.
Retention and security
Records are kept only as long as needed to operate the relevant feature, maintain security, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Exact periods vary by record and provider. No storage or transmission method is perfectly secure, but Calwarden limits the data each feature needs and uses access controls, secure cookies, input validation, and anti-abuse checks.
Your choices
You can use calculators without signing in, clear Calwarden local storage and cookies in your browser, block analytics through browser privacy controls, unsubscribe from calculator-request notifications by changing the related request choice, and ask about access, correction, or deletion of account or submission data through the Contact page. Calwarden may need to verify a request before acting on it.
Children's privacy
Calwarden is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, use the Contact page to request review and removal.
Policy changes
This policy may change when Calwarden's features, providers, or legal obligations change. The revised version will be posted here with a new update date. Questions about this policy can be sent through the Contact page.
