About this Immigration Form Fee Calculator

Immigration packets often include more than one cost: a principal filing fee, derivative applicant fees, biometrics, premium processing, medical exams, photos, translations, and mailing. Use this calculator to combine the amounts you have verified for your scenario.

How this calculator works

Principal form fees are multiplied by the principal applicant count. Derivative fees are multiplied by derivative count. Biometrics are multiplied by applicants subject to biometrics. Optional premium, medical, photo, translation, mailing, and other costs are added. Confirmed waivers or credits are subtracted, but the total is not allowed to go below zero.
Government subtotal = principal applicants x principal fee + derivative applicants x derivative fee + biometric applicants x biometric fee + premium fee. Supporting costs = medical + photos + translations + mailing + other costs. Estimated form cost = max(0, government subtotal + supporting costs - confirmed waiver or credit).

Inputs explained

Principal applicants and filing fee

The number of principal applicants and the user-entered filing fee for the form scenario.

Derivative applicants

Family members or dependent applicants modeled with a separate user-entered fee.

Biometric and premium fees

Optional fee components entered from the current official instruction or service choice.

Supporting costs

Medical, photo, translation, mailing, and other costs included for budget planning.

Understanding your results

The estimated total form cost is the budget implied by your inputs. It does not confirm eligibility, fee-waiver qualification, payment method, edition date, filing location, or whether the government will accept the filing.

Example scenarios

Family packet budget

A principal applicant and two derivatives can enter separate principal and derivative fees, then add medical exam and mailing estimates.

Premium processing scenario

Compare the total with premium processing set to zero and then set to the verified optional fee amount.

Things to Keep in Mind

This calculator does not look up official fees, determine eligibility, apply fee-waiver rules, validate form editions, or provide legal advice.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Verify fees on the official form instruction or fee schedule on the day you prepare the filing.
  • Check whether age, category, filing method, or fee waiver status changes the amount.
  • Keep a buffer for rejected payments, new medical exam requirements, translations, or mailing changes.

Can this determine whether I qualify for a fee waiver?
No. Only enter a waiver amount if you have independently confirmed that it applies.
Is this legal advice?
No. It is a client-side planning calculator, not legal advice or an official fee determination.
